The growing concern around the COVID-19 outbreak has left everyone feeling uneasy, especially as we face more changes to our daily routines and future plans.
Tracey Concrete takes the health and safety of our employees and their families, suppliers and customers very seriously. As the situation continues to evolve, we will continue to review and modify our policies and procedures, in line with guidance and advice from the Irish Government, UK Government, Public Health England (PHE), the NHS and the World Health Organisation (WHO). We have already put a series of preventative measures in place to help protect our staff, suppliers and customers, while ensuring continued service during these uncertain times.
Currently, there are no cases of COVID-19 among any of our employees. Employees are required to promptly report the onset of any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19, as well as any recent travel history. Those that have symptoms or a relevant travel history have been asked to self-isolate for 14-days, as per advice from the World Health Organisation, and many countries around the world.
Specific measures taken include:
Best practice health measures – our employees have been counselled on and provided with detailed recommendations and guidelines on how to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including appropriate hygiene measures. Our facilities, offices and trucks will be professionally cleaned more frequently.
Business and customer service continuity – our employees will continue to work on site, but inter-office travel has been suspended. Some of our staff work remotely and securely from home, and should the need arise to extend this to other staff, the infrastructure is in place.
Travel – we have suspended all non-essential business travel for our office staff. Drivers transporting goods have been provided with guidance on hygiene practices. They will be extra vigilant in following the procedures in place at the various sites to which they deliver.
On-site meetings – we are limiting any face-to-face meetings at our offices. As above, meetings will instead be conducted by tele- or videoconferencing, whenever feasible.
Internal meetings – Board meetings, group meetings and face-to-face meetings have been put on hold for the foreseeable future. Any required meetings will take place via tele- or videoconferencing.
Scenario planning – protocols and procedures are in place to help respond to various situations that may arise, including operating at reduced numbers if the health and safety of our employees is affected.
